The music dance relationship 2
Task 1 No way
In No way we move our hand across our mouth as if our mouth is being zipped up then closing the hand to show this clearly in relation to lyrics 'SHH' on bar 53 on the 2 beats/1 second
The time signature of this extract is 4/4 There is no change throughout the performance. after the dance break on bar 118 the tempo is slightly slower of the 4 beats in each bar.
Task 2 No way
during the dance break in bar 110 the tempo is very upbeat and swift where we perform a rapid sequence of moves where as bar 118 slows down for a relaxed unhurried movements within the dance.
Task 3 The relationship between lyrics and movement
In six there is many songs that have movement that reflect to the lyrics.-
In the song 'Six' the lyrics 'our crowning glory 'on bar 51 the movement reflects the lyrics. we hold our hands as a crown above our head
In the song 'Mega six ' the lyrics 'L-O-L' on bar 49 reflects to the movement where we create an L and O shape with our hands
In 'Haus of Holbein' the lyrics 'nein' on bar 68 means no and our movement correlates to this as we shake our hand with one finger side to side towards the audience
In 'Get down' the lyrics 'Get down' in bar 36 we slowly squat to mimic the get down motion
in the song 'Heart of stone' the lyrics 'I'm unbreakable' correlates to a tiny movement where we hold our own hands firmly to show we wont break physically.
The relationship between music/ lyrics and movement/gesture in the work of professional choreographers
In Cell block (tango) from Chicago choreographed by Bob Fosse the lyrics 'ran into my knife ' correlates to the movement suggests that a guy is resting on a knife
Another from Cell block tango (Bob Fosse) the lyrics "fired two warning shots into his head" which correlates to the movement that suggests her hand is the bullet going into his head.
My last one is from Chicago by Bob Fosse, the lyrics 'slick your hair' which the movements resemble someone physically slicking your hair back.
