Unit 13 and 14 Analysis of key features of contemporary dance in 'El Perdon'
The key features of contemporary dance: Positions of the feet: Flexed: A flexed foot is heavily contrasted with ballet because ballet is meant to be beautiful with perfect alignment where as for contemporary is heavily involved in feeling the music giving it an entire different look. It does not really convey much emotion at all, however you could interpret it as being discomforting. Pointed: this is heavily involved with Ballet as it has a fixed alignment, which Ballet like as its more pretty and clean looking. you can associate having pointed feet with being calm (emotionally). I feel as though my ability to do this is constantly improving the more i dance and will hopefully carry on improving with more and more practice Breathe to initiate movement: Contraction and relationship to gravity: Range of movement of the spine: Contact work and trust: (insert video here)
